Make your day with an alpaca – llama trek

Embark on the adventure you’ve been daydreaming about, walking alongside our incredible alpacas and llamas. It’s a bucket list item for many, and we’re thrilled to offer both Private and Group Alpaca/Llama Treks for you to make unforgettable memories.
Stroll through our picturesque farm, traversing meadows and woodlands, guided by our knowledgeable staff, while enjoying the companionship of your own personal alpaca or llama. Imagine the joy of walking alongside these gentle creatures—it’s an adventure you won’t want to miss.
Located just 1.5 hours from New York City, near Poughkeepsie, we proudly hold the title of TripAdvisor’s #1 Thing to do in Pleasant Valley, NY.
Our group treks are small in size (10 people or less), allowing each person to walk their own alpaca or llama (ages 9+). You can purchase individual tickets to a group trek or book a Private Trek, accommodating 2 to 15 people (price is for 2 people, additional fees for more people).

Do you have to be 9 or older?  Yes, we require walkers to be ages 9 or older for safety reasons.
Can I request a specific alpaca or llama? You can as long as they are one of the camelids that go on walks.  We will try to make it happen for you.

Can I buy a ticket for a child and just have them walk alongside me?  No, our treks are for ages 9+.  However, younger children love our Farm Tours – this is a great option for a family to do.

Can I walk alongside?  No – each person gets their own alpaca to hang out with and believe us – an alpaca is not something you want to share.  🙂 It is a special time with an adorable alpaca and therefore we only allow one person per alpaca.   Each participant must purchase a ticket and be part of the group.

Can a minor walk without an adult?  No, all walkers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult

Can I hold a child and walk an alpaca?  For safety reasons, we cannot allow this.  Please be aware that if a minor is accompanying you when you show up for the trek you will be unable to participate in the trek and will not be eligible for a refund.

Can I bring my dog?  As much as we love dogs, there are no pets allowed on the property except service dogs.  You are not allowed to leave them in the car.  Please do not bring your dog.  If you do  you will not be able to participate in the trek and would not be eligible for a refund.

What happens if I cannot make it or am late:   We cannot accommodate visitors who are more than 15 minutes late for treks.  Please plan on coming early.  See our cancellation policy in the footer of our website.
Can I book a private trek ?  Absolutely! We have a variety of options for private treks on our calendar.

Can I book a Private Trek during the week? We do allow Private Treks for groups of 8 – 15 people during the week. Please see our booking page for times and dates.
